INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF YOUNG TURKOLOGISTS

NEOTÜRK: AT THE CROSSROADS OF ERAS AND TECHNOLOGIES”

     From April 7-8, 2025, with the assistance of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, in close cooperation with the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty, Kazakhstan), an International Scientific Conference for young Turkologists (undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students) on the topic «NEOTÜRK: AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURIES AND TECHNOLOGIES» will be held. The conference is held in the framework of the 1155th anniversary of the great scientist Al-Farabi. In this regard, we invite young scholars to contribute to the study of the rich heritage of the Turkic world and the discovery of new knowledge.
    The purpose of the conference is to engage young scholars in the study of the language, history, and culture of the Turkic peoples; to identify new directions in Turkology and discuss relevant issues; to provide an opportunity for young researchers to present their work; to promote common spiritual values of Turkic peoples and apply modern research methods. Thus, the conference provides young researchers with the opportunity to discuss current issues in Turkology, propose new ideas, establish scientific connections, and exchange experiences.

The conference will be organized into the following sections:
PHILOLOGY SECTION:
•    Askar Kurmashuly Egeubaev — scientist-researcher of medieval monuments
•    Turkic written monuments: textology and translation issues
HISTORY SECTION:
•    Historical and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples at the crossroads of eras
•    Mahmud Kashgari and the Turkic World
ORIENTAL STUDIES SECTION: 
•    Turkey and global processes: language, history, and culture

EVENTS WITHIN THE CONFERENCE:

•    Motivational lectures by prominent Turkologists in TEDx format
•    Poster exhibition "Turkic Heritage: New Research"
•    Workshops on research methodologies

Registration time: 09:30-10:00  
Conference time: 10:00 – 18:00 (Astana time)  
Venue: 4th floor, room 416, Al-Farabi Library

CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION PROCEDURE

As a result of the conference, the scientific works of the participants will be published in an electronic collection. All articles in the collection will be published as a scientific publication and placed in the electronic library. The final decision on publication matters will be made by the organizing committee. Materials that have not passed the review will not be returned to the authors.  
IMPORTANT NOTICE – materials submitted for the conference must comply with spelling rules.

Conference languages: Kazakh and other Turkic languages, English, Russian.  
Presentation time – 10 minutes, questions and answers – 5 minutes.

THE ARTICLE SHOULD BE FORMATTED AS FOLLOWS:

1) In the upper left corner of the article, the GТAMR (MRNTI) index should be placed (font size 11)  
2) After one space, in the upper right corner, your name, city, and country should be written (font size 11); for master's and PhD students, the name of the scientific supervisor should also be included (font size 11)  
3) After one space, the title of the article should be written in large bold font (font size 12)  
4) An abstract (100 words) in two languages (the language of the article and English) (font size 11)  
5) Keywords (5 words or phrases) must be provided  
6) After one space, the main text of the article (5-6 pages) should follow (font size 12)  
7) Internal references in the text should be formatted in square brackets, with the source number and page indicated [1, 15], [1, 15-17]  
8) After one space, the bibliography list should follow (font size 10). The bibliography should be formatted according to the requirements of the Committee for Control in Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  

The organizing committee reserves the right to select articles from the submitted materials. The reports will be evaluated based on the relevance of the topic, methodological and theoretical justification, as well as the scientific value of the research.
