Master's students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Baku State University, studying within the framework of the dual-degree educational program of the Master's degree "7M04212 - Maritime and Energy Law", visited the Botanical Garden in Almaty on February 18, 2025. The visit was organized within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) "Life on Land" and was aimed at getting acquainted with the unique flora, scientific activities of the institution and its contribution to the conservation of biodiversity.
The visit was organized by the head of the department of customs, financial and environmental law Kuanalieva G.A., coordinator of double-degree education in the master's program "7M04212 - Maritime and Energy Law" professor Aygarinova G.T., adviser Rasheva G.K. The events were attended by graduate students of Baku State University: Amirli A., Ibrahimzade L., Mammadova S., Mirzayeva S., Tayarli S., Khuseynova A., Khuseynov A., as well as graduate students of KazNU: Bilim M., Abilova D., Nagmanov N.
During the excursion, the graduate students learned about the rich collection of plants presented in the Botanical Garden. Particular attention was paid to rare and endangered species that are protected and require special conditions for conservation. The garden staff spoke about the methods of cultivating and acclimatizing plants, as well as about modern approaches to botanical research that help preserve unique species in a changing climate.
