A Department with a rich history

     The international scientific conference «Modern Education and Science: history, future», dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Department of  Pedagogy and        Education Management, was held today at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Scientists from the country and abroad took part in this scientific event. The events that took place in the history of the country's pedagogy are closely related to the training of specialists, the innovative and research, socio-political life of this department during its formation and development.
     According to the information on the way of formation of the department, it was first opened in 1937 as an office of pedagogy, S. Kozhakhmetov (1910-1945) was the head. It was founded as a separate department on January 12, 1940. First, the department was renamed the Department of «Pedagogy», then the Department of «General and Ethnic Pedagogy», and today it is renamed the Department of «Pedagogy and Management of Education» and is a fundamental department of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, which trains pedagogical specialists. Today, the faculty of the department is closely connected with educational work aimed at conducting socio-cultural events among students of all faculties of the university.
     The main objectives of the educational work of the department are the education of a patriotic, spiritual and moral personality. The department closely cooperates with educational organizations and centers. In particular, these are the University of Massachusetts (USA), the University of Ghent (Belgium), the University of Burgas (Bulgaria), the University of Pest (Hungary) and prestigious research centers of the country: the Academy of Education named after I. Altynsarin, the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Kazakhstan, the Academy of National Values, the National Center for Advanced Training «Orleu».
     Since the department has been operating, it has been training highly professional specialists in education and other areas of society, and today our graduates work in the country and abroad. The department is an educational, scientific and public center for the training of scientific and pedagogical staff and highly qualified specialists in demand on the labor market.
