On February 21, 2025, as part of the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals under the “Quality Education” direction, the Department of Philosophy, led by lecturers G.M. Sembaева and Zh.N. Kazieva, organized an interfaculty creative-intellectual competition among students on the theme “Values – the Core of Spiritual Culture.” Four teams, composed of second-year students from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Faculty of Biology, and Faculty of      Biotechnology, actively participated, showcasing their cognitive and creative abilities. The competition was judged by Zh.N. Bekenova, Deputy Head of the Philosophy Department for Educational and Methodological Work, R.B. Zeynullin, Deputy Head for Scientific and Innovative Activities and International Cooperation, along with department lecturers D. Balabekuly and K.T. Nurgaliyev.
The competition consisted of three rounds:
1. Introduction Round: Each team, assigned a nationality by drawing lots, highlighted the cultural characteristics of that nation, focusing on its traditional values.
2. Homework Round: Teams presented pre-prepared performances showcasing the customs and traditions of their assigned nation, emphasizing national values.
3. Intellectual Round: Teams answered various questions related to the philosophy of the nation they represented.
The competition featured discussions on Kazakh, Japanese, Indian, and Greek cultures and values. The students demonstrated a high level of preparation and understanding. The event successfully achieved its goal of promoting national values as the foundation for future generations’ upbringing. At the end of the event, the teams were awarded honorary diplomasfor their participation and achievements.
