As part of their pedagogical practice, 1st-year undergraduates Mergenbai Zhansaya, Sailaubekov Akzhol, and 1st-year doctoral student Omarbayev Myrzakhan of the Department of Space Engineering and Technology, together with curator-adviser Assel Ismailova, conducted an open educational hour with first-year undergraduate students of the Department of Mechanics. During the lesson, they discussed important issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The topics of discussion were "Goal No. 9 – Industrialization, Innovation and infrastructure (SDGs)". The participants discussed in detail what sustainable development is and what goals it consists of, discussed the role of innovation, industrialization and infrastructure in the modern world, and also got acquainted with the current state of infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
Special attention was paid to how innovations can become the basis for economic development, industrialization and infrastructure. The international experience of sustainable development and its key principles were also reviewed.
The lesson was held in the format of a live dialogue. The interns actively engaged the students in the discussion, and the students in turn shared their thoughts, ideas, and experiences. It was clear that they were not indifferent to issues such as ecology, green energy and infrastructure issues that directly affect the future of the country.
It was a useful and interesting experience for all the participants. Students and interns exchanged new ideas, which became a valuable contribution to the discussion.
The main result of the lesson is to create an atmosphere for generating ideas and solutions to topical issues, which is of great importance. The goal of the interns was not only to transfer knowledge, but also to help students develop critical thinking to solve the complex challenges of our time.
The lesson turned out to be lively, useful and inspiring. All participants expressed their gratitude for their active participation!

Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanics on academic affairs and educational work
