Farabi Business School is improving business education

On April 4, 2025, representatives of Farabi International Business School took part in an international workshop on Capacity building for Central Asian business schools, organized by the global association AMBA & BGA (Association of MBAs & Business Graduates Association). The event was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
Farabi International Business School is a member of AMBA & BGA for the second year and is actively pursuing international accreditation from this prestigious organization. The AMBA & BGA accreditation is a recognition of high-quality education awarded to business schools that can demonstrate a growing positive impact on society and the business community over a measurable period.
The key theme of the workshop was the issue of unlocking and effectively utilizing the potential of management education in Central Asian countries. The conference brought together leading representatives of business schools from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian nations to discuss ways to enhance international competitiveness, improve academic programs, and develop innovative approaches in education.
The Director of Farabi International Business School, Saryyev Zharaskhan, participated in a panel discussion alongside heads of leading universities from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In his speech, he emphasized the particular importance of combining academic freedom with state governance, elaborating on how this approach influences the quality of educational programs and promotes the development of innovative processes in teaching and managing a business school operating within a state university.
Before the conference, a delegation from Farabi International Business School visited Central Asian University (CAU) — one of the most dynamically developing universities in Uzbekistan. During a working meeting with representatives of CAU’s business school, led by its founding dean, Dr. Odiljon Abdurazzakov, participants exchanged up-to-date information on the current activities of their institutions, discussed key challenges faced by business schools in the region, and outlined prospects and directions for joint development.
Particular attention during the meeting was given to inter-university cooperation, the exchange of best practices, integration of innovative educational technologies, development of institutional infrastructure, as well as the enhancement of student academic mobility and the professional development of faculty members.
Participation of representatives from Farabi International Business School in such international forums contributes to increasing the global visibility of education in Kazakhstan, strengthens the university’s position as an authoritative center for business education in Central Asia, and fosters the establishment of long-term academic partnerships.
