On April 8, the lecturer of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism Altynay Ermakova organized an open lesson on the subject of "Recreational Tourism" for third-year students of the Kazakh branch of the educational program "Tourism" on the topic of "Educational, health and sports tourism centers of the world."
The open lesson consisted of three main stages: theoretical part, research work and practical part. Students were divided into three groups:
Stage 1: Students prepared presentations on the topics of educational, health and sports tourism. Each group presented a definition of their type of tourism, main centers, advantages and development prospects, and also revealed its significance.
Stage 2: Interesting facts and statistics about major tourist centers of the world related to educational, health and wellness and sports tourism were presented. The information presented allowed us to identify the features and attractive sides of each destination, as well as their role in the global tourism industry.
Stage 3: In order to consolidate knowledge, quizzes were held on online platforms in various formats (tests, comparison, card games, true/false tasks). This stage helped to increase students' interest and create an interactive educational environment.
The lesson was held at a high level. Students were active and expanded their knowledge. Each group creatively approached the task, presenting useful and meaningful information to the audience. Game elements and interactive methods made the lesson interesting and effective.
The lesson was held within the framework of SDG 4.
