Women in Science and Business

14 april, 2025

On April 14, 2025, within the framework of SDG 5 "Gender Equality," a demonstration lesson  on the topic:  “Women in Science and Business” was held at the university. The event was organized by the  first-year master's degree  students  majoring in  “7M02309 – Literary Studies” and “7M01701 – Kazakh Language and Literature,” under the guidance of senior lecturers of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Dr. of Philology G.Zh. Bolatova, PhD G.T. Ospanova, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences B.I. Imanbekova, and Acting Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences N.S. Zhubanazarova.

The main goal of the event was to introduce the  students  to  the role of women in science and entrepreneurship, to provide an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of women leaders, and to foster teamwork and critical thinking skills.

During the lesson,  the students  were provided with informational materials and completed interactive tasks such as puzzle assembly and crossword solving. This allowed the  students not only to consolidate their knowledge but also to actively engage in discussions and express their views openly. Additionally, the organizers conducted feedback sessions to monitor and support the emotional well-being of the students.

Overall, the roundtable discussion offered in-depth insight into the achievements of women in science and business, sparking new thoughts and reflections among the students. For many, this event became not just a source of information, but also a source of inspiration and self-confidence.

The event was actively organized as a  part of pedagogical practice by  the first-year master's degree  students majoring in  “7M02309 – Literary Studies” and “7M01701 – Kazakh Language and Literature” programs: Ulzhalgas Akhan, Aishagul Ashimova, Bekzat Abilda, Araylym Baibatyrova, Ulzhan Galpai, Samat Oral, and Yermek Tileubek.

Such events help broaden young people’s worldviews and promote a deeper understanding of gender equality. The perseverance and leadership of women working alongside men in science and business serve as a model for future generations. The thoughts and opinions shared during the open session inspired students and gave them confidence to move forward.
