For the past three years, during the holy month of Ramadan, the Chief Imam of the "Nurly" mosque in Almaty, Qasymov Qasym Abdulmazhituly, has been organizing iftar meals for 30 days for students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In recognition of this charitable act, a letter of appreciation was presented to him on behalf of the university's Board Member – Vice-Rector for Social Development, S.K. Suatay.

While handing over the letter of appreciation to Mr. Q. Ashimov, Dean of the Faculty N.B. Yem especially emphasized the importance of this traditional charitable initiative in fostering charity, kindness, and spirituality among students.

As this was Qasym Abdulmazhituly’s first visit to the faculty, he was presented with the works of academician A. Derbisali as a gift.
