Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — “Quality Education”, a masterclass by an Iranian writer was held

On April 24, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, through the initiative of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia and the Iranian Studies section, organized a creative writing masterclass for students led by the Iranian writer Mirazimi, author of The One-Page Book. During the session, the writer focused on the characteristics of the short story genre, elaborating on the depth of meaning that can be conveyed in compact formats, the art of image creation, and the use of expressive language.
As part of the workshop, students were given a creative task — to write a short story beginning with the words “I...” and describing their first day at school. The aim of the assignment was to help students express their inner feelings and memories through artistic language.
The stories were read aloud, and the writer provided individual feedback on each one, commenting on their artistic level, depth of content, and linguistic style. During the discussion, students went beyond childhood memories, expressing their views on relevant topics such as changes in society, relationships with parents, and intergenerational understanding.
Mirazimi praised the students’ freedom of thought and linguistic richness, emphasizing the importance of sincerity and life experience in writing. The masterclass took place in a warm, open, and inspiring atmosphere and became a unique experience for future specialists interested in Iranian literature and language.
