A seminar on "Women's rights and protection mechanisms: from standards to support" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Yerkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice-rector of the University, welcoming the participants on behalf of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, noted the achievements, intellectual potential and special status of KazNU.

First Vice-Rector Yerkin Duisenov stressed that in the context of modern global challenges, issues of gender equality and the protection of women's rights are becoming particularly relevant. In Kazakhstan, this issue is at the center of public policy attention, which is confirmed by reforms aimed at achieving gender balance and empowering women.

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly stressed the importance of gender equality as one of the key priorities of state policy. In his video message to the participants of the global forum "Generation of Equality", organized by "UN Women" in cooperation with the governments of France and Mexico, he noted that over the 30 years of independence, Kazakhstan has built a progressive policy aimed at supporting women and ensuring their rights.

The seminar was also attended by Nicholas Mazik, Head of the Human Dimension Department of the OSCE Program Office in Astana, and Sholpan Bekenova, Deputy Chairman of the Registration Service and Legal Services Committee of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The seminar heard reports by expert in the field of gender equality, women's rights and sustainable development Aida Alzhanova on the topic "Kazakhstan's international obligations in the field of women's rights protection", lawyer of the Almaty City Bar Association Zhanna Urazbakhova on the topic "Peculiarities of participation in cases of sexualized crimes" and others.

In conclusion, the experts answered the questions of the participants and summed up the results of the work.
