KazNU has introduced new educational programs

In the new academic year, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has significantly expanded the range of educational directions, introducing new programs at all levels – bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
The updated product line covers a wide range of scientific and applied fields: journalism, oriental studies, biology and biotechnology, information technology, international relations, history, philology, geography, and physical sciences.
The Faculty of Journalism emphasized the development of research and practical skills in the field of communications. The new doctoral program in Public Relations includes the study of strategic communications, media planning, reputation management, anti-crisis PR, as well as modern digital technologies in the field of public relations.
The Faculty of Oriental Studies offers a new bachelor's degree program "Regional Studies: South and Southeast Asia", focused on a comprehensive study of the history, politics, economics and culture of the countries of the region. Interdisciplinary programs "Translation: Chinese in the field of law" (bachelor's and master's degrees) have also been introduced, in which students master legal terminology, the basics of Chinese law, professional translation in the legal field, as well as modern linguistic and translation technologies.
The Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology has launched a master's degree program in Biomedical Engineering, aimed at integrating biological and engineering knowledge for the development of medical technologies. The interdisciplinary program "Applied Biophysics" is also being implemented, covering all three levels of study. Students study spectroscopy methods, biomolecular interactions, cellular biomechanics and other modern approaches.
The Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU, together with Bukhara State Technical University, implements the master's program "Standardization and Certification (by industry"), aimed at training specialists in the field of international standards and quality control systems. The Faculty of History offers two new bachelor's degree courses: "Socio-cultural Anthropology" and "Museology and Historical and Cultural Tourism". Students study methods of ethnographic and anthropological research, the basics of museum business, cultural theory, guided tours, organization of cultural events and methods of preserving historical heritage.
The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management has implemented a Master's degree program in Earthquake Geology and Seismic Hazard, covering disciplines such as seismology, geophysics, seismic process modeling, natural risk assessment, and engineering seismology.
The Faculty of Information Technology is expanding the training of specialists in key areas of the digital economy. The Bachelor's degree program in Software Engineering is open, where students study algorithms, programming, databases, network technologies, and the basics of cybersecurity. The Master's degree program in IT Management is aimed at developing managerial competencies in the field of digital projects, digital transformation, business intelligence and innovation.
In cooperation with Northwestern Polytechnic University (PRC), a two-degree program for doctoral students in Computer Science and Technology is being launched, including the study of machine learning, big data analysis, neural networks and robotics.Также внедрена двудипломная программа бакалавриата «Искусственный интеллект», охватывающая обработку естественного языка, интеллектуальные системы, компьютерное зрение и прикладные аспекты ИИ в промышленности и науке.
Together with the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications, the bachelor's degree program "Cryptology in Military Affairs" is being implemented, aimed at training specialists in the field of cybersecurity and cryptanalysis.
The Faculty of Philology is launching a two-degree bachelor's degree program "Foreign Philology: French", implemented jointly with the University of Grenoble-Alpes (France). The curriculum includes subjects in linguistics, translation studies, French literature, cultural studies, as well as training in the field of intercultural communication.
The Faculty of International Relations has introduced a bachelor's degree program in International Economics, which focuses on global economic processes, international trade, economic diplomacy, and interaction with international financial institutions.
Thus, the expansion of educational programs in the 2025-2026 academic year opens up wide academic and professional opportunities for KazNU students.
