Call for Participation: International Conference

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty, Kazakhstan), in cooperation with the University of Malaya (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), will hold the International Research Conference “Islamic Studies in Kazakhstan and Malaysia: Common Cases and Current Issues” on 10-12 September 2025.

Venue: Al-Farabi KazNU Library (Conference Hall No. 303) , Almaty

Format: Hybrid (offline and online via ZOOM)

Working languages: Kazakh, Russian, English

Conference objective – to conduct a comparative analysis of the development of Islamic studies in Kazakhstan and Malaysia, to identify similarities and differences, and to promote academic cooperation and exchange of experience.

Key topics:

         •        Historical and cultural development of Islamic civilization

         •        Islamic social values and society

         •        Youth perspectives on religion and values

         •        Islamic education systems and their impact

         •        Research and preservation of manuscripts and Islamic heritage

         •        Religious tolerance and interfaith dialogue

         •        Islamic finance and banking

The program will include plenary sessions, panel discussions, scientific project presentations, workshops.
