Lecturer of the Department of Chinese Studies completed an internship at Dalian Polytechnic University

From August 18 to 31, 2025, Dr. Ph.D. Nurzhan Baltazhanovna Saparbayeva, a faculty member of the Department of Chinese Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, took part in a professional development program at the invitation of Dalian Polytechnic University. The program was specially designed for lecturers from universities of CIS countries and brought together participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Armenia.
The training covered key issues of modern education: digitalization of the learning process, innovative methods of teaching the Chinese language, intercultural communication, academic mobility, and international scientific cooperation. Special attention was also paid to the prospects of integrating scientific research into the global educational space. The program included lectures by leading Chinese professors, practical seminars, round tables, and discussions. Participants exchanged experiences, discussed the challenges and opportunities of transnational education, and identified ways of implementing joint projects.
In addition to the educational part, a cultural program was organized for the participants. They visited the cities of Tianjin and Beijing, explored historical and architectural landmarks, and became acquainted with China’s rich cultural heritage. In Tianjin, Dr. Saparbayeva gave an interview to the TV channel “MIR” on behalf of the university faculty, sharing her impressions of the program and the importance of international academic cooperation. These visits and meetings contributed to a deeper understanding of national culture and traditions, which is especially valuable for specialists in Chinese Studies.
Such initiatives not only strengthen academic ties but also open new horizons for joint research. For Kazakhstan, this cooperation has become an important step in advancing international scientific and educational partnerships, while for the Department of Chinese Studies it marks a significant stage in expanding research horizons and introducing innovative approaches to teaching.
