President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation”, September 8, 2025.

Today, students and faculty of the Higher School of Medicine at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University gathered in the assembly hall to watch the online broadcast of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s annual Address to the Nation — “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation”.

In his speech, the Head of State emphasized that in the coming years Kazakhstan must transform into a fully digital state. Key priorities include the adoption of a Digital Code, the establishment of a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, support for domestic IT startups, and the launch of national digital platforms for water resource management and demographic forecasting. He also announced the introduction of digital tenge and the creation of a State Digital Assets Fund.

The President highlighted that new technologies should serve the people — improving the quality of healthcare, education, public services, and the economy.

For future doctors, this is especially relevant: digitalization paves the way for the development of telemedicine, AI-based diagnostics, and greater accessibility of healthcare. After the broadcast, students and professors discussed the key points of the Address and its impact on the future of medicine in Kazakhstan.
