Meeting of the Dean with Curators and First-Year Students of the Educational Program “Materials Science and New Materials Technology”. SDG 4 and SDG 11
At the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Dean of the Faculty held a meeting with the curators and first-year students of the educational program “Materials Science and New Materials Technology” of the Department of Solid State Physics and New Materials Technology.
The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize students with the key principles of the university’s academic life and to build a solid foundation for their further studies. During the meeting, students were introduced to the Academic Policy of KazNU, the Student Code of Honor, and the rules of residence in university dormitories.
Special attention was paid to issues of academic integrity, responsibility for compliance with behavioral norms, and the maintenance of an atmosphere of mutual respect. The Dean emphasized the importance of active student participation in the scientific and social life of the faculty, while the curators spoke about their role in supporting the adaptation of first-year students to new study conditions.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to establish open dialogue between the faculty administration and students: first-year students received answers to their questions related to the educational process, internal university regulations, and opportunities for extracurricular development.
This event is directly linked to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals:
-
SDG 4 “Quality Education” – by fostering students’ understanding of academic values and creating conditions for successful learning.
-
SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities” – by nurturing a responsible attitude toward living on campus and cultivating a culture of respectful coexistence.
The meeting concluded with wishes for success to first-year students and an invitation to actively engage in the educational and scientific initiatives of the faculty.
