Dear guests, esteemed professors, and students,

The Faculty of International Relations hosted a festive event dedicated to two significant occasions — the Language Festival and the 30th Anniversary of the Faculty. This celebration brought together faculty, students, and guests, uniting everyone around the shared values of culture, knowledge, and mutual understanding.

The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Zhuldyz Talgatkyzy Sairambayeva, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the milestone. The Head of the Department of Diplomatic Translation, M. K. Murzagalieva, also addressed the audience, underlining the significance of the Faculty’s achievements and the symbolic meaning of the festival.

The program was divided into several parts, each dedicated to a particular language and its cultural heritage. The first part highlighted the rich history of the Kazakh language, presented as a reflection of national identity and spiritual values. The second part focused on the English language and its role in science, technology, and international communication, featuring a theatrical performance in English.

The third part introduced the audience to the French language, described as the language of art, beauty, and elegance. The fourth part was dedicated to the Chinese language, which represents the legacy of an ancient civilization, and included a musical performance that captivated the audience.

In the fifth part, the performances “Debate of Languages” and “Polyglot” demonstrated the equality and value of all languages, stressing that languages are not in competition but serve as bridges of respect and understanding.

Lecturer of the Department of Diplomatic Translation, Aigerim Sovetkhanovna Smagulova, also delivered a speech highlighting students’ enthusiasm for language learning and their role in strengthening intercultural ties.

The event concluded with a reminder that languages are golden bridges of friendship and mutual understanding. As a Kazakh proverb wisely states: “Know the languages of seven peoples — you will gain the wisdom of seven.” Knowledge of languages indeed opens limitless opportunities for education, development, and international cooperation.

The Language Festival and the 30th Anniversary of the Faculty once again reaffirmed the enduring value of languages, intercultural dialogue, and mutual respect.
