Faculty of Physics and Technology: Mini-Football Tournament as a Tool to Strengthen Corporate Culture and Achieve SDG 3 and SDG 17

As part of the celebration of the Trade Union Day, the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held its traditional mini-football tournament among the teaching staff. The event aimed to strengthen corporate culture, enhance team cohesion, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Faculty members of different generations participated, demonstrating high sportsmanship, teamwork, and mutual support on the field.
Football is traditionally regarded as a sport that fosters teamwork, endurance, and leadership skills. This tournament once again confirmed the importance of such activities in uniting the team, boosting motivation, and fostering a positive workplace environment.
Each scored goal became a symbol of team spirit and shared purpose, while every pass emphasized the value of mutual assistance and support within the team.
The university’s Trade Union Committee fully sponsored and organized the event by providing the sports venue, logistical support, and administrative arrangements. This initiative is a vivid example of the trade union’s commitment to the well-being of the faculty’s staff. On behalf of the faculty, sincere gratitude is extended to the committee for its contribution to strengthening the corporate culture.
Sports tournaments, which have become a good tradition at the faculty, significantly contribute to creating a healthy and productive work environment, fostering collegial relationships, and enhancing the university’s positive image.
Contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
The tournament contributed to the achievement of SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-Being” by promoting physical activity and improving the well-being of employees. Moreover, the event demonstrated effective partnership between the faculty and the trade union committee, supporting SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” and fostering an inclusive and supportive corporate environment.
The Faculty of Physics and Technology continues to adhere to the principles of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, integrating its scientific and educational objectives with the creation of a healthy and inclusive environment for all members of the academic community.
