Meeting with representatives of Bukhara State Technical University

Today, the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University welcomed colleagues from Bukhara State Technical University:
🔹 PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Metrology and Standardization, Bakhtyor B. Tairov,
🔹 Head of the Department of Quality Control of Education, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Alisher Kh. Gafforov.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, Professor N. A. Beisen, and faculty members of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics.

Discussions focused on strengthening academic and scientific collaboration, implementing joint educational programs, and expanding academic mobility of students and faculty.
Special attention was given to the double-degree master’s program “Standardization and Certification (by sectors)”, launched in 2025 between Al-Farabi KazNU and Bukhara State Technical University. This year, 45 master’s students were admitted to the program.

The visit was especially symbolic as it coincided with World Standards Day, which unites professionals promoting quality, safety, and sustainability worldwide.
The faculty’s initiatives in standardization and certification directly contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

• SDG 4 — Quality Education;

• SDG 9 — Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure;

• SDG 12 — Responsible Consumption and Production.
