Ayagoz District Olympiad in Physics and Mathematics

On October 17, 2025, within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Secondary School named after Ospankul Menayakuly, the traditional district Olympiad in physics and mathematics among school students of the Ayagoz district was held. The event was dedicated to the memory of Associate Professor Zh. Omirbekov from the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics.

The Olympiad has been held for several years with the support of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Faculty members R.K. Manatbayev and M.S. Isatayev played an active role in organizing and conducting the event.

Students from 22 schools of the Ayagoz district took part in the competition: 19 from grade 9, 12 from grade 10, and 15 from grade 11. The winners were awarded certificates, medals, and monetary prizes.

The event was held at a high level and once again demonstrated the effective collaboration between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and local schools. The Olympiad promotes students’ interest in natural sciences and supports the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 4 “Quality Education” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”.
