The Department of Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in collaboration with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), held a seminar-training from October 20 to 24, 2025, on the topic: “Fundamental Principles of Developing Tests for Learners of Arabic as a Second Language”.

The purpose of the seminar-training was not only to demonstrate the effectiveness of traditional methods of teaching Arabic but also to introduce innovative learning technologies. This initiative aims to develop the intellectual and creative abilities of each student, unlock individual potential, and enhance the pedagogical competence and professional qualifications of teachers.

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) was established on September 1, 2020, by a decree of the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia, with the goal of elevating the status of the Arabic language to a global level. The Academy’s main mission is to become a leading center of Arabic language, culture, and science within the framework of the “Saudi Vision 2030” development program, under the human capital development pillar. The delegation from the Academy, led by the Secretary General, Professor Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, included: Saad Al-Qahtani, Head of the Educational Programs Sector; Hanan Al-Maliki, Director of the Department of Program and Center Planning;  Abdurrahman Al-Omari, Director of the Department of Marketing and Corporate Communications; and coach-trainers Ali al-Faifi and Mohammed al-Jihni.

The seminar-training was attended by faculty members, professors, master’s and doctoral students of the Department of Arabic Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, as well as about 30 instructors from other educational institutions training Arabists — including Nur-Mubarak Egyptian University of Islamic Culture, Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Abai Pedagogical University, and others. Upon completion of 24 academic hours, the participants of the seminar-training received internationally recognized certificates issued by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language.
