Kazakh-British collaboration in capacity building for researchers
Center for professional development and engagement in Almaty, based at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Kazakh as a partnership project of the University and the British Council in the framework of the intergovernmental Kazakh-British program "Newton - Al-Farabi", conducted training on " PROPOSAL WRITING and FINDING FUNDING for RESEARCH PROJECTS.
The purpose of this training –capacity building of researchers for the preparation and submission of applications for funding of research projects.
The seminar was attended by deans and professors of Al-FarabiKazakh National University, Vice-Rector of the Almaty Academy of Economics and Statistics Makhambetov D.M., academics from the following universities: KazGASA, International Education Corporation, KazNMU, SuleymanDemirel University, UIB, KIMEP,Kazakh University of World Languages and International Relations, Kazakh National Agrarian University, as well as representatives of business structures: BNT Kazakhstan and BBA Ltd.
Seminar was conducted by the British expert - Professor P. Quantick, who has more than 25 years of experience and attracted more than EUR 2.5 million in funding to research.
The expert shared with the participants of the training “know hows” on preparation of applications to the European Commission, gave examples of successful applications filed for different types of financing, clarified who can apply and what priorities are financed, which articles are covered by grants from the EU spending. The participants, in turn, shared their experiences and spoke about the difficulties encountered in the preparation of applications.
As a result of the workshop, participants learned about the different types of grants, the logical diagram, the necessary components of a successful project proposal, the process of selection and evaluation of applications received and the answers to your questions.
