Round Table Discussion on the topic: “The Holocaust and Human Fate: In World and Kazakh Literature”
Within the framework of SDG 4 the round table discussion on the topic: “The Holocaust and Human Fate: In World and Kazakh Literature” was held with the 4th-year students majoring in Literary Studies under the guidance of senior lecturer L.Mekebayeva, G.Ospanova, Sh.Shortanbaev.
The main purpose of the event was to understand the impact of one of the most tragic periods in human history—the Holocaust—on human destiny, and to analyze how this theme is reflected in both world and Kazakh literature.

The students explored various ways the Holocaust tragedy is portrayed in literature, discussing the themes of human destiny, war, and suffering through the works of E. M. Remarque, J. Heller, K. Vonnegut, and other world writers. They also compared how the theme of war is depicted in world and Kazakh literature, addressing issues of human fate, pain and hope, and spiritual resilience. Special attention was paid to the ideological perspectives and artistic techniques of authors who depicted the Holocaust tragedy.
During the discussion, students shared their thoughts, presented short reports, and read excerpts from literary works. The conversation featured insightful reflections on humanity, kindness, the value of peace, and the strength of the human spirit.

The round table discussion was highly engaging and meaningful. The participants actively expressed their opinions and supported them with literary examples. By the end of the discussion, participants emphasized the importance of humanism and peaceful coexistence as fundamental values of life.
This event contributed to broadening students’ historical and literary outlook, strengthening their moral and spiritual values, and deepening their understanding of how war and tragedy affect the human mind.
