SDG №4, 10, 14: A seminar-training was held on the topic: “Why Inclusive Education Matters”
A seminar titled “Why Inclusive Education Matters” was held at the KazNU Library, organized by Zakhira Ongarbaevna Begalieva, Director of the “ITeachMe” Competence Development Center.
During the event, the speaker discussed the importance of inclusion in society, equal opportunities for people with special educational needs, and ways to unlock their potential. Participants actively took part in interactive games and discussions.
The seminar gathered students and invited guests, highlighting the growing interest of youth and the public in accessibility and inclusion within the educational environment. Topics such as principles of inclusive interaction, barriers faced by people with disabilities, and the ethics of communication were discussed. Participants received practical recommendations on how to create a respectful and accessible environment for everyone. The event became an important step toward promoting inclusive values both within the university and in society at large.
The seminar concluded with a ceremonial presentation and handover of books printed in Braille. These publications hold special significance for the university, as they contribute to the development of an inclusive educational environment and ensure equal access to knowledge for students with special educational needs. The addition of such books to the KazNU library collection marks an important milestone in building truly open and accessible education for all.
