Bringing cultures together: international students participated in a university-wide cleanup.
Last weekend, the traditional autumn cleanup took place on the university campus, with international students actively participating alongside faculty. The active work of a student group from China drew particular attention – they enthusiastically joined in clearing leaves and beautifying the university campus. Despite the chilly weather, the participants set out early in the morning, armed with rakes, gloves, and a cheerful disposition. The Chinese students noted that participating in the cleanup was an excellent opportunity to better understand the university culture, feel part of a larger team, and contribute to creating a comfortable environment. The event organizers emphasized that international student participation plays an important role in fostering intercultural interaction within the educational community. Joint work during the cleanup not only contributes to the beautification of the campus but also strengthens friendships between students from different countries.
The campus grounds were noticeably transformed: mountains of fallen leaves were collected and removed, and paths and green spaces were cleared.
According to the organizers, the main goal of the cleanup day was not only to improve the grounds but also to create an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual understanding between representatives of different cultures. International students enthusiastically supported the idea and expressed a desire to participate in similar events in the future. The tradition of cleanup days continues to unite students, developing environmental awareness and fostering a caring attitude toward the environment. International students from China became a shining example that good initiatives transcend borders and language barriers.
