7M02302 Translation (Oriental Languages)

Цель: The purpose of the educational program is to train competitive specialists with a complex of systemic knowledge, able to generate new approaches in the field of translation studies, comply with communicative, ethical standards and perform the professional functions of a translator in the work of international, national, public, private organizations.

Educational program

The purpose of the educational program is to train competitive specialists with a complex of systemic knowledge, able to generate new approaches in the field of translation studies, comply with communicative, ethical standards and perform the professional functions of a translator in the work of international, national, public, private organizations.

1. Provide simultaneous translation in the situation of accompanying a foreign delegation and on the subject of international politics, interstate relations and the political situation in the studied region;
2. Create an original research within the existing knowledge in the field of translation studies and to study of a specific translation problem of the Eastern language;
3.Perform written/ oral translation of texts from the oriental language into Russian/ Kazakh/ English and from the Russian / Kazakh/ English language into the oriental language in the field of security and international relations;
4. Negotiate and possess organizational skills and communication skills in the field of tourist translation services;
5. Work together in group, practically implementing various methods of action in situations of professional communication, tolerant perception of social, ethnic, confessional and cultural differences;
6. Apply new interactive and digital technologies in practical teaching activities in higher education institutions;
7. Differentiate the modern scientific paradigm in the field of translation theory and the dynamics of its development, the system of methodological principles and methods of scientific research;
8. Create new training programs in the specialty and develop innovative methods of organizing the educational process;
9.Predict and evaluate research results, design the research process, and build a logical chain of hypotheses that includes analysis of scientific facts;
10.Analyze the political, cultural and institutional events in Kazakhstan and in the world within the framework of the professional translation context;
11.Compile and execute scientific documentation (dissertation, reports, reviews, abstracts, annotations, reports, articles, bibliography and references); overcome language interference; to identify convergence and divergence in the structure of the respective pairs of languages;
12.Carry out professional translation activities in production, commercial, managerial and other areas at business and organizations;

Master's degree educational programs

Persons entering the master’s degree or residency:
when applying to organizations of university and postgraduate education:
1) an application addressed to the head of the organization of higher and postgraduate education in any form;
2) document on higher education (original);
3) certificate of completion of the internship (for admission to residency);

Graduates of the Department of Sinology of educational program 7М02302- Translation (Oriental Languages) are in great demand and can work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Committee, the Customs Service, media at various levels, museums and archives, translation agencies, research centers and higher educational institutions. Graduates can also work in Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Chinese and UAE companies and firms which located in Kazakhstan. At the same time, he has the opportunity to continue his education at doctor programs.
