Educational program

The purpose of the discipline is to construct students' general cultural and professional competencies in the field of international relations and diplomacy, information and analytical activities according to the requirements of the internal and international labor market as well as the development perspectives of the country and region.

Graduates of this program would result in being able to:
1 Assess information about cultural, social, political and economic relations by studying world politics, specific international situations within diplomatic, international and civil service framework.
2 Assess the information about various stages of international relations development in the context of social science methodology within framework of professional activity in governmental and non-governmental organisations.
3 Compare key concepts of different theories to analyse global processes and the development of international relations system in their historical, economic and legal contexts in order to apply these skills in professional activity along the lines of international politics.
4 Analyse the specifics of foreign policy and national security of Kazakhstan and other countries by exercising the duties of junior and medium level officials in the system of MFA, including the application of the studies methods and skills of the diplomacy and foreign languages.
5 Apply professional empirical skills of analytical work in foreign languages at the diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other international organisations.
6 Apply the knowledge of two foreign languages and translation skills in the context of professional activities in the international organisations, and other international agencies and structures.
7 Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge of mechanisms and factors of development of modern international relations system for systemization of processes occurring in world politics in the context of professional activities in civil service organisations, private business corporations and NGOs.
8 Implement expert, consulting and analytical services under the guidance of experienced specialist in the field of social, cultural, political interactions in the area of international relations by applying the skills of international political analysis and foreign languages.
9 Draft international political research programs under the guidance of experienced specialist for solving problem situations by applying professional skills of geopolitical analysis at the diplomatic and civil service and think-tanks.
10 Generate ways of solving contemporary issues in the field of international relations, world economy, international and regional security in the context of professional activities in the governmental and non-governmental structures.
11 Provide argument for independent academic views based on received professional knowledge concerning forecasting of development of geopolitical, integrational processes during the work in analytical structures.
12 Arrange international events, meetings, conferences, international negotiations in foreign languages by applying the skillset of business correspondence, diplomatic protocol and etiquette by exercising the duties of medium level officials in the system of MFA.
