Academic approaches and innovative solutions
for educational program design
On February 20, 2025, NJC «al-Farabi Kazakh National University» will hold an Expert strategic session on «Quality assurance of educational programmes: academic approaches and innovative solutions».
The session is an annual platform for the exchange of ideas and best practices on the integration of education, science and business.
The main purpose of the Expert Session – improving the quality of educational programs through the assessment of their effectiveness and the introduction of innovative design approaches in the context of the harmonization of the labor market and education.
The task – to develop practical recommendations and approaches to the design of educational programs through the experience exchange and discussion of innovative solutions based on the labor market requirements with experts and young scientists.
The Expert session will be attended by representatives of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education and the National Center for Higher Education Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ministry of Science and Higher Education, experts in the field of developing educational programs at universities in Kazakhstan, employers, and young scientists.
Panel expert sessions:
- Designing a portfolio of university educational programs for anticipatory staff training.
- «Мамандығым-болашағым» – preventive staff training project.
- Inclusive-oriented teacher training: current state and prospects.
- Dual education: goals, objectives, problems and ways to solve them.
- AI in higher education.
- Micro-credentials: new ways of higher education transformation in Kazakhstan.
Expected results
- Develop recommendations for creating a flexible portfolio of educational programs based on forecasting the needs of the labor market and integrating interdisciplinary approaches.
- Develop mechanisms for updating educational trajectories in consideration of future professions and their effectiveness criteria.
- Propose methodological recommendations for the implementation of the inclusive education model in higher and postgraduate education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Design a roadmap for strengthening the interaction between higher and postgraduate education institutions and employers, and propose solutions to eliminate infrastructure barriers to dual education.
- Identify priority areas for the application of GenAI to improve the quality of education, including the implementation of adaptive courses, platforms, and personalized learning pathways.
- Apply new standards for the integration of micro-credentials into educational programs and mechanisms for their recognition by employers.

"Modern trends in the development of a research university"
Dear Colleagues!
Hereby, the al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites the faculty members and students to participate in the expert strategy session "Modern trends in the development of a research university" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which will be held on February 21-22, 2024.
The purpose of the strategy session is to develop an educational strategy, where the science acts as a key driver of education development in the research university.
The task is to exchange ideas and best practices on the integration of science and education to form a sustainable and inspiring educational environment.
The following panel expert sessions are planned within the framework of the expert strategy session:
1. Design of the educational programs of the research university: problems and prospects;
2. Digital transformation of education;
3. Advanced teaching and learning technologies;
4. Inclusive education;
5. Quality of teaching and learning: transformation of the teacher's role.
Expected results of conducting of the expert strategy session:
- identify, jointly with the professional communities, the current requirements of the labour market in order to promptly integrate in-demand skills and competencies into educational programs focused on professional standards;
- propose a strategy of digital transformation of the research university in order to create effective and accessible educational opportunities for various groups of students by taking into account the principle of equal access to learning;
- provide innovative teaching and learning methods to the Higher and Postgraduate Education Organization that promote active involvement of students into the educational process;
- recommend mechanisms for creating a barrier-free educational environment that recognizes the diversity of the student population, supports students with the various needs and provides equal opportunities for learning;
- evaluate the role and functions of teachers in the context of advanced educational trends in the use of new technologies, development of students mentoring and support, and stimulate the teaching efforts in the research activities.
The program of the expert strategy session provides for plenary sessions and interactive panel sessions with the participation of experts, and work on tracks in strategy groups at the faculties of al-Farabi KazNU.
Based on the results of the expert strategy session, the organizing committee plans to publish articles in the collection Modern trends in the development of a research university" in the publishing house "Kazak University".

Recommendation: It is advisable for all participants to open the link in the browser. There is no need to download the application to the computer. |

Submission of applications for publication of paper (article) |
In case of publication of the paper (article), it is necessary to indicate in the application form the need for publication. The following should be sent to the organizing committee: - paper (article) file, - anti-plagiarism certificate in PDF format; - scanned cheque of payment for publication and postage expenses (mandatory condition). For the faculty members of KazNU. Participation in the expert strategy session for the faculty members of KazNU is provided at no charge and will be taken into account when assigning points in the indicative plan. |

For the authors of outside organizations, the cost of 1 article for publication in the collection of the session - 1 Monthly Calculation Index = 3,692.00 tenge. The maximum publication volume is 4-5 pages. |
