On November 14, 2025, second-year students of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a challenge titled “Sport as a Key to Health” within the framework of the Sustainable Development Program. The initiative aimed to encourage youth engagement in physical activity, promote healthy habits, and highlight the importance of maintaining balance between academic and physical development.

During the challenge, students performed a series of sports exercises, emphasizing the benefits of staying physically active, managing time effectively, and integrating sports into daily routines. The event gained significant attraction on social media, inspiring students from other groups and faculties to join the movement.

According to participants, physical well-being forms the foundation of a well-rounded personality. Healthy and active students tend to achieve higher academic results, adapt more quickly to professional environments, and maintain resilience in various life situations.

The challenge supports several key Sustainable Development Goals:

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – promoting youth health and preventing chronic diseases;
  • SDG 4: Quality Education – integrating physical education into the academic process;
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – fostering an active and health-oriented community environment.

The “Sport as a Key to Health” challenge, initiated by KazNU’s young Turkology students, has become a meaningful step toward building a healthy university culture. Such initiatives not only strengthen the physical well-being of students but also contribute to the comprehensive development of future professionals, enhancing the university’s mission in shaping responsible and active youth.
