Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Quality Education,” a thematic session was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the first-year students of the “Ecology” specialty. The event, led by the teacher of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, Kairbek M.N., combined theoretical knowledge, practical orientation, and a creative approach to learning.
The main objective of the meeting was to highlight the significance of quality education as the foundation for the professional development of future ecologists. In a rapidly changing world, the education system plays a key role in preparing specialists capable of effectively responding to environmental challenges, implementing innovative solutions, and shaping the environmental culture of society.
Students presented their analytical reports, in which they emphasized the importance of high-quality educational programs, access to modern learning materials, and involvement in research activities. They noted that quality education contributes to the formation of ecological thinking, the development of the ability to critically evaluate environmental processes, and the search for paths toward sustainable development.
Teacher Kairbek M.N. pointed out that the educational process should be not only informative but also motivating. “Quality education is not a set of facts, but an opportunity to learn to think, to explore, and to create solutions capable of changing the world,” she emphasized during the meeting.
Special attention was given to the dialogue between students and the lecturer. The open discussion allowed first-year students to express their ideas on the development of environmental education, ask questions about current trends in global science, and exchange views on the role of youth in achieving the SDGs.
The meeting demonstrated how quality education fosters the formation of active, thoughtful, and responsible youth. Thanks to such events, students gain the opportunity to expand their knowledge, strengthen their interest in their future profession, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
