Head of the Department of Chinese Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU Spoke at the International Conference “Shanghai Spirit and the Power of Youth Action”
On November 14–15, 2025, the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), together with the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), held an international conference titled “Shanghai Spirit and the Power of Youth Action.” The event brought together leading researchers, experts, and educators from various countries to discuss strategies for strengthening humanitarian cooperation and developing youth potential across the Eurasian region.
One of the invited speakers was Farida Orazakynkyzy, Head of the Department of Chinese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She delivered a speech focused on issues of intercivilizational dialogue and the enhancement of educational ties between China and the countries of Central Asia. In her address, she emphasized the importance of youth initiatives, academic exchange, and joint research projects as key factors in ensuring sustainable development in the region.
The conference agenda included the following thematic areas:
- Historical Mutual Learning: Dialogue between the civilizations of China and Central Asia.
- Empowerment in Science and Education: Innovative cooperation and skills development.
- Youth Action: Building sustainable humanitarian connections.
- Strength of Youth: China–Central Asia cooperation in sustainable development.
The conference served as a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices, as well as for discussing new forms of youth participation in the implementation of joint international initiatives. The participation of representatives from Al-Farabi KazNU highlighted the growing role of Kazakhstan’s academic institutions in strengthening humanitarian cooperation in the region.
