A scientific seminar dedicated to strategies in literary translation was held at the Department of Chinese Studies.

In contemporary literary and translation studies, the accurate transmission of national and cultural meanings in a literary text has become one of the significant areas of scholarly research. Considering the relevance of this issue, on 20 November, 2025,  Gulmira Katbayeva, a second-year doctoral student specializing in the 8D02301 -Translation Studies (Eastern Languages) program at the Department of Chinese Studies, conducted a scientific seminar titled “Strategies in Literary Translation.” During the seminar, participants examined the challenges of conveying the linguocultural elements of M. Auezov’s novel The Path of Abai into other languages, the difficulties involved in selecting appropriate linguistic equivalents, issues arising in intercultural communication, the methods and techniques employed by translators, as well as current matters related to promoting Kazakh literature on the international stage.
