Protecting Marine Ecosystems: Educational Ecological Trip
On November 23, 2025, the students of Group 108 carried out an educational ecological activity by visiting the Almaty Zoo as part of the initiative “Sustainable Development Goal 14 — Life Below Water.” The event was organized under the leadership of the group curator and lecturer of the Department of “Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law,” Bazartayeva Y.B. This visit was designed not only as an excursion, but as an opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world environmental issues.

The main purpose of the activity was to explore the living conditions of marine and freshwater species and to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving aquatic ecosystems. Students observed fish, amphibians, water birds, and other species, learning about their biological characteristics and their essential role in maintaining ecological balance. Specialists at the zoo provided detailed explanations about endangered aquatic species, the threats they face — such as climate change, pollution, and habitat loss — and the global efforts aimed at protecting and restoring marine biodiversity.

This visit played a significant role in strengthening students’ environmental awareness and personal responsibility toward nature conservation. It encouraged them to reflect on the principles of sustainable development, understand the fragility of aquatic ecosystems, and recognize the importance of mindful coexistence with the natural world.
