The Faculty of Chemistry Held a Meeting with Career Guidance Counselors from Almaty Schools
Starting from the current academic year, schools implementing secondary education programs have introduced a new function the systematic organization of career guidance activities. Career counselors perform important tasks such as identifying students’ professional inclinations and providing information about specialties in high demand on the labor market.
In this regard, on November 17, 2025, the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology organized an Open Day with the participation of career guidance teachers from schools across Almaty. During the event, detailed information was presented about the structure of the faculty’s educational programs, the competency system, and the features of the learning process.
The educational program of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis, and Petrochemistry, “6B05314 – Petrochemistry and Chemmotology,” was widely showcased. Faculty members Amantayuly K. and Supiyeva Zh.A. represented the department. Participants received data on the relevance of the program in the labor market, the most in-demand specialties in the industry, and employment opportunities for graduates.
In addition, guests were shown the department’s modern material and technical facilities, including laboratories and training and research sites equipped with analytical and experimental instruments.
The event enabled career guidance teachers to gain a deeper understanding of the faculty’s opportunities and to enhance the effectiveness of their work in guiding students toward future professions. This event contributes to achieving SDG 4 “Quality Education,” providing students with access to up-to-date information on educational pathways and opportunities for professional development.
