Environmental Education of Students through an Interdisciplinary Approach: Visit to the Biological Museum within the Framework of SDG №13

On December 1, 2025, within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal №13 «Climate Action», senior lecturer of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, A. O. Ospan, organized an educational excursion for 1st-year students of the «Biomedicine» specialty to the museum of the Faculty of Biology.

The Biology Faculty Museum is a unique space dedicated to science, education, and nature conservation. It features a valuable and rare collection of plants and animals, as well as a material base that highlights the importance of preserving biodiversity on our planet.

During the excursion, students explored specific biological forms linked to current issues and demands related to climate change. 

The event not only broadened students' perspectives but also emphasized the special role of biomedicine in addressing global ecological challenges and contributed to the development of ecological thinking. 

Such interdisciplinary experiences foster a sense of responsibility among youth towards future generations and stimulate their interest in science.

The visit to the biological museum served as a clear example of the strengthening connection between the humanities and natural sciences, showing that the university supports the comprehensive development of individuals.
