"Sezim Khattar"play: for the heart and soul
On November 20, senior lecturers from the Department of Russian Philology and World Languages at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, S.S. Sayakhmet and A.O. Ospan, organized a visit to the Concordia Theater for the first-year hydrology students to see "Sezim Khattar" play within the framework of SDG 5 "Gender Equality." The play was based on heartfelt anonymous letters.
The play's main theme was hidden feelings: love, emotions, loss, longing, loneliness, and similar experiences described in the letters. Since the theme of love is particularly relatable to young people, the play resonated deeply with the students from the very beginning. The letters were read to the accompaniment of a guitar, accompanied by live music, songs, and a waltz – all of which resonated emotionally with the audience. The evening's atmosphere was captivating.
A special feature of the evening was the host's selection of letters from the audience, finding their authors among the audience members, and presenting them with combs as gifts. He concluded the evening with a quote from a poet, saying that a person in love always combs their hair, thus conveying their feelings.
This cultural event became a true dialogue between generations and inner excitement, a bridge between the human soul and art. For the students, the performance was more than just an academic event; it was a vibrant experience, filled with feelings and thoughts, encouraging self-reflection. It allowed the students not only to experience theater but also to gain a deeper understanding of feelings and emotions, expressing them through poetry, writing, music, and dance.
The performance concluded with heartfelt letters, confirming that the theme of love is eternal. Each audience member found something relatable in this evening: some heard, others were heard—it all became a special, emotional moment. The performance was special and emotionally charged for everyone.
