The House That Remembers» literary evening
On 27 October 2025, at the Faculty of Philology under the direction Head of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of A.S. Demchenko «The House That Remembers» literary evening was hosted. Guests of the evening included writer Yuri Serebryansky, Indian poet Sonnet Mondal, and translator Anton Platonov. Following brief introductions by A.S. Demchenko and Yu. Serebryansky, the evening featured readings of the poet's poems, both by the author and by students, master's students, and doctoral students of the department. The participants listened with interest to the poet talk about his creative work and his favourite theme, dedicated to the concept of "Home." A wide range of questions were asked, covering both the poet's work and his public and personal life. An interactive social survey (both online and offline) was conducted: What does "home" mean to you? The most interesting and unexpected answers were shared. The evening featured a slide show «Voices of the Homes», a musical interlude «Breath of Memory», a choral reading and candlelight. Everything was striking and had great educational value. Second-year master's students from the Russian Federation, A. Blagodatskaya and Zh. Aitzhanova successfully hosted the event.
Holding literary evenings and roundtable discussions with educational value and the participation of our undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, is in keeping with the implementation of the key principles of SDG (4) at the university.
