The Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics ZH.K.Zhunusbayeva, together with a first-year doctoral student of the “8D05104 – Genetics” program Araylym Erzhan Yergaliqyzy, held a meeting with undergraduate students. During the discussion on the topic “Master’s and PhD programs: key competencies for working in international research laboratories,” they shared their research experience, academic journey, and future scientific plans.
During the meeting, Araylym Erzhan emphasized the importance of science and healthcare in building a sustainable future, noting their close connection with the UN Sustainable development goals. Drawing on her own experience, Araylym highlighted that young researchers can make a real contribution to solving global issues through scientific inquiry.
Students were also introduced to her doctoral dissertation project, “Molecular and genetic characterization of Helicobacter pylori strains in Kazakhstan.” The research aims to improve public health, prevent gastric diseases, and enhance microbiological safety. This direction aligns directly with the UN’s sustainable development goal 3 - “Good health and well-being.”

The event took place in a meaningful and inspiring atmosphere, serving as a strong source of motivation for students and increasing their interest in research activities. The department of molecular biology and genetics wishes Araylym success in completing her dissertation and becoming a bright figure in the scientific community.
