Event-Exhibition “Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Risks” in the Context of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Artificial Intelligence and SDG No. 4 “Quality Education”
On December 2, 2025, at 14:00, senior lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages Sh.B. Gumarova, B.K. Issabayeva, A.S. Utebekova, L.E. Kudaibergenova, and A.S. Rezhep held an international event-exhibition titled “Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Risks” in the context of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on artificial intelligence and Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 “Quality Education.” The aim of the event was to demonstrate that artificial intelligence is not merely a tool of the future, but a reality of today that requires awareness, responsibility, and critical thinking.

The participants and guests of the event-exhibition included lecturers and first-year students of the Kazakh and Russian languages department, as well as students from the People’s Republic of China -Zhang Bo and Ren Ruizi - studying in the Russian language program of the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event also welcomed invited speakers from Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, representing the Faculties of Journalism, Uzbek Philology, and Philology and Language Teaching: first-year student of the Russian Language Department Ismoilova Akerke, and first-year student of the Kazakh-American University, majoring in Tourism, Akkaliyeva Aruzhan.
The event focused on discussing the opportunities and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence. In the first part, the student from Uzbekistan delivered a presentation highlighting key areas of AI application and the risks linked to its use. In the second part, students created and presented thematic posters illustrating their understanding of AI’s impact across fields such as science, education, medicine, construction, automation, and cybersecurity. Special attention was given to risks such as the spread of fake information on social media, technological dependence, the threat of unemployment, and the possibility of erroneous outcomes generated by artificial intelligence.
The event allowed participants to take a critical look at the development of artificial intelligence and understand the importance for students to learn how to use new technologies wisely and consciously. After the presentations, participants engaged in a question-and-answer session.
At the conclusion of the event, all participants received certificates.
