PhD doctoral student of the Department of Botany and Agroecology at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhaukhar Aralbaykyzy Kenzhebayeva, completed an international scientific internship at the Hamidiye Research Institute of the Health Sciences University in Istanbul, Türkiye, from October 15 to November 15. The internship was carried out under the supervision of her international research advisor, PhD, Professor Ahmet Beyatli.
This internship provided the young researcher with an opportunity to broaden her scientific experience, to become familiar with advanced international research methodologies, and to further develop her own projects at the global level.
During the laboratory work, the biological activity of plant extracts was investigated. It was determined that these extracts exhibit high antioxidant activity, moderate cytotoxic effects, as well as antimicrobial properties. These findings indicate the potential of plant-derived compounds for use in the development of new biologically active pharmaceutical preparations.
