On December 1, 2025, as part of international academic cooperation, the Faculty of Law hosted lectures by the distinguished scholar from the People’s Republic of China, Professor Kunbolat Sungatuly from the Faculty of Political Science and Law at Gansu University. The event provided students with a unique academic platform to gain a comprehensive understanding of contemporary political and legal processes in Central Asia and China.
Professor Kunbolat Sungatuly offered an in-depth analysis of political and legal developments in Central Asian countries and China, addressing the interaction between the state and society, current trends in public administration, and the specifics of legislative reforms. His lectures combined theoretical frameworks with practical examples, making them particularly valuable for students.
During the sessions, the professor presented numerous examples from Chinese public administration, conducted comparative analyses of legal modernization models in different countries, and outlined potential trajectories for the development of Kazakhstan’s legal system amid global changes. This enabled students to broaden their professional horizons and develop new perspectives on the future of legal science.

The lectures were conducted in an interactive format, with students actively participating in discussions and asking questions about governmental reforms, research internships, international grants, and practice-oriented studies. Such academic dialogue offered participants a rare opportunity to learn directly from an expert of international standing.
Overall, the events expanded students’ scientific and professional knowledge and deepened their understanding of international integration in the field of law. They also strengthened the Faculty’s position as a center for international cooperation and opened new opportunities for collaborative projects with leading Chinese universities.
These meetings highlight the Faculty’s high standards and contribute to the formation of future legal professionals capable of confidently operating in the global legal arena. We are confident that international cooperation in this format will continue, opening new academic and research opportunities.
