The students of the “Actuarial Mathematics” major conducted a lesson dedicated to the topic “Good Health and Well-being.” To actively engage the students in the learning process, the group was divided into two teams. The first team presented drawings illustrating a healthy lifestyle: proper nutrition, physical activity, daily routine, and emotional well-being. The second team, in contrast, depicted factors harmful to health, such as bad habits, stress, a sedentary lifestyle, and unbalanced nutrition. Each team talked about their drawing and explained how the depicted habits affect human health.
After that, the teams completed an interactive task: each group described symptoms of various diseases, and the other team had to guess which disease was being discussed. This exercise helped students better understand the connection between symptoms and the condition of the body, as well as develop analytical and critical thinking skills.
The final stage of the lesson included reading and discussing material about myths and facts related to health. Students examined common misconceptions, compared them with scientifically proven information, and drew conclusions about the importance of critically evaluating information from different sources.
The conducted lesson contributed to expanding students' knowledge about a healthy lifestyle, increasing awareness, and fostering a culture of caring for their own health.
