24 october, 2025

On October 23-24, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Modern Kazakhstani Prose: Leading Trends, New Names, Study Prospects» was held at the Philological Faculty.

The conference was co-organized by RUDN University (Russia), the Kazakhstan Branch of Moscow State University (Russia), and Selcuk University (Turkey). The conference moderators and organizers, A.S. Demchenko, E.T. Kakilbaeva; writer Yu. Serebryansky; U.M. Bakhtikereeva, T.V. Krivoshchapova, Z.S. Orazbekova, and M. Omar, delivered welcoming remarks and wished the participants creative work. The plenary session featured interesting presentations by Y. Serebryansky, "Women's Voices in Contemporary Kazakhstani Prose: Maria Omar's Novels Rumiya. Unbraiding Her Braids," Narayna Satpayeva, "Mukhit Follows the Light," Oral Arukenova, "February," A. Zhaksylykov, "Current Meanings and Realities of Umit Tazhken's Prose," U. Bakhtikereeva, O. Valikova, "History and Theory of Translingual Russian-Language Literature: The Experience of the RUDN University School of Science" and others. The presentations in the six sections, which actively worked in a hybrid mode, were no less interesting. It should be noted that the presentations by our students, master’s students, and doctoral students were delivered at a high scientific and methodological level, and the topics of the reports were relevant. This reflects the conscientious work of the teachers of the Department of Russian Philology and Literature: A.Zh. Zhaksylykov, E.T. Kakilbaeva, O.K. Abisheva, N.K. Sarsekeyeva, A.S. Demchenko, and others. Our young teachers, R. Shanaev, A. Akhmet, E. Seitkazy, N. Zhenis, S. Sayakhmet, A. Kasymbekova and many others, demonstrated a model of coordinated teamwork among the organizers of all events.

Conducting international and national conferences, seminars, and roundtables, and the participation of our students, master's, and doctoral students, provides excellent opportunities for developing scientific and methodological experience and improving the quality of teaching and education (SDG-4).

Teachers of the Department of Russian

 Philology and World Literature:
