"Children's Literature in an Independent Nation"
The fourth-year students of the Literature Studies major, held a round-table discussion on the topic: “Children’s Literature in an Independent Country” with the participation of instructors Sh. Shortanbay and E. Soltanayeva.within the framework of SDG 4 “Quality Education”. During the meeting, the students shared their thoughts on the development of children’s literature in modern independent Kazakhstan, its genre-specific features, educational value, the creativity of new authors, and its role in instilling national values in children.
The event broadened the students’ scientific and cognitive outlook and provided an opportunity to discuss children’s literature from a contemporary perspective. The purpose of the meeting was to expand students’ scholarly and literary worldview, analyze current trends in the development of children’s literature, and examine the specifics of conveying national education and culture through literature in the context of independence.
During the discussion, the students comprehensively explored the growth directions of children’s literature in independent Kazakhstan, its genre and thematic innovations, as well as its educational and worldview-forming potential. The creative works of writers such as P. Duysenbin, T. Zheksenbai, Sh. Kumisbayuly, A. Balta, S. Doszhan, E. Zhenisuly, A. Elgezek, B. Sarybai, and others were reviewed. The round-table meeting contributed to the students’ professional development, deepened their understanding of children’s literature, and supported the analysis of modern literary trends.
