Open Class “The Role of Education in Fighting Poverty” SDGs: Goal 4 “Quality Education”, Goal 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”
On September 20, 2025, an open educational session titled “The Role of Education in Fighting Poverty” was held at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was organized by 4th-year students of the “6B071900 – Radio Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunications” program. The session was supervised by Senior Lecturer A.O. Tileu of the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics.
The primary objective of the session was to demonstrate how quality education contributes to poverty reduction and to encourage students to foster socio-economic development through knowledge and professional skills.
The session consisted of three major stages:

Explanation and analytical discussion — examining how communication technologies influence modern education.

Student presentations — sharing perspectives on the significance of education, innovation, and digital technologies in societal growth.

Outcome — students improved their professional knowledge and gained competencies essential for economic and career advancement.
The open class highlighted the crucial role of education in shaping society and improving the quality of life, proving that education is a key instrument for sustainable development and poverty eradication.
