Open Class “Basics of Student Budget Management” SDGs: Goal 4 “Quality Education”, Goal 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”

On November 6, 2025, an open educational session titled “Basics of Student Budget Management” was held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was organized by students of group RET-215 under the supervision of curator Alisher Skabylov from the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics.

The main goal of the session was to develop students’ financial literacy, improve their understanding of income and expense planning, and teach effective budgeting strategies. Students explored key financial concepts, such as income sources, categories of expenses, savings techniques, and ways to avoid unnecessary spending.

Various methods were used: visual presentations, group discussions, practical budgeting exercises, and interactive Q&A activities. Students created their own sample budgets, analyzed financial scenarios, and presented their solutions. A mini-quiz titled “Financially Literate Student” was conducted, and the most active participants were recognized.

By the end of the class, students gained essential financial management skills, understood the importance of responsible budgeting, and learned strategies for achieving long-term financial stability.
