On December 5, 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages held an event on the theme “Independence – the Foundation,” timed to coincide with Independence Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the “Sustainable Development Goals 8” to promote steady, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. The round table was attended by faculty members K.A. Aisultanova, Sh.S. Duisenbaeva, and first-year students majoring in “Jurisprudence, Law Enforcement” at the Faculty of Law. The main goal of the event was to explain the meaning and significance of Kazakhstan's independence, foster respect for the country's history and national values, and instill a sense of patriotism. To entrust future generations with peace, unity, and solidarity among the nations and peoples of Kazakhstan, the freedom that our ancestors strove for, the great achievements and accomplishments of our country, and to teach them to cherish and value them as the apple of their eye. Each student was able to express in their poems how important and valuable independence is to us.
Using slides, we showed how difficult the path to independence was, what events took place, and made people think. In particular, we talked about the events of 1986 and told a little about those who died for the cause of independence. The event was interactive: there were quizzes, questions and answers, and creative tasks. The students were active and able to freely express their opinions in English. As a result, the students' sense of patriotism increased, and the cohesion and responsibility within the group were strengthened. The event “Independence is the Foundation” was held at a high level and left a good impression.
