“Turkic Languages in the Era of Globalization” round-table discussion
On 15th of December, “Turkic Languages in the Era of Globalization” round-table discussion was held at the Department of Turkic Studies and Theory of Language. The event was organized by Akbota Serikkazykyzy, Deputy Head of the Department for Academic, Methodological and Educational Affairs, together with the third-year students of “6B02209 – Turkology” major.

The purpose of the round table was to discuss the development, preservation, and expansion of the use of Turkic languages in the context of globalization, as well as to enhance students’ linguistic and cultural awareness.
During the event, participants exchanged views on the current state of Turkic languages, their role in the digital environment, and their future prospects in a multilingual context. The importance of education and academic research in preserving and promoting Turkic languages was also emphasized.
As a result of the discussion, students recognized the relevance of preserving Turkic languages in the era of globalization and proposed initiatives aimed at protecting linguistic heritage.
