The second-year students majoring in Actuarial Mathematics held a training session on the topic of “Poverty Eradication,” aimed at developing socio-economic thinking and understanding the global goal of SDG 1.
At the beginning of the session, the students divided into two teams. The first team depicted the causes of poverty on a poster, highlighting unemployment, low levels of education, economic crises, and social inequality. The second team prepared a poster with possible solutions to the problem of poverty: creating new jobs, accessible education, social support for vulnerable groups, and developing financial literacy.
After the presentations, the students discussed the differences between “rich” and “poor” thinking. The participants concluded that a person's attitude toward work, education, and financial planning often influences their economic situation. During the discussion, students noted that developing proactive thinking and resource management skills helps people overcome difficult life circumstances.
The session ended with a collective conclusion that the fight against poverty requires both government measures and personal responsibility for one's own development and financial stability.
