Educational and Career Guidance Initiatives of the University within SDG 4: Advancing Inclusive, Equitable and Quality Education
On 3 November 2025, the faculty members of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology responsible for career guidance actively participated in a training seminar for school career-orientation specialists in the city of Almaty. During the event, school teachers and students were introduced to the faculty’s academic programs, their curricular and methodological features, and academic mobility opportunities offered by the departments of Biotechnology, Botany and Agroecology, Zoology, Histology and Cytology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biophysics, Biomedicine, and Neurosciences.The exhibition showcasing the faculty’s educational programs was attended by more than 175 school career counselors and students from secondary schools in Almaty.

During the event, comprehensive information was presented on the key outcomes of fundamental and applied research conducted at the faculty, contemporary innovative developments in the fields of biology and biotechnology, the capacity of the laboratory infrastructure, as well as the mechanisms for engaging students in research activities.
Within the framework of the seminar, participants became acquainted with the scientific potential of the faculty, opportunities for industrial internships and graduate employment, and interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approaches applied in the training of future specialists. In addition, an exchange of views took place on current issues in career guidance and on strengthening cooperation among educational institutions.
